Litter Box

Your cat needs a litter box.  What kind?  There are many.  It doesn't matter if you have one cat or many. Your pet will still need its own "place to go".

Everyone that has a pet cat or two knows the need 
to have one or more cat litter boxes that are big 
enough to accommodate your cats.  Even if your 
furry friends are outdoor pets, they still need a place 
inside to relieve themselves of the urine build up 
during the night while you are sleeping.  I'm sure 
you have no desire to get up and let your cat out.

People have many different names for these types of 
boxes.  They sometimes call them litter cabinets. A 
litter cabinet can be an actual cabinet that is meant 
to hide the litter boxes.  You can have a pan 
underneath these types of litter boxes  to catch any 
litter particles that the kitty may have  inadvertently 
pushed out of the box.  You may also find it 
beneficial to put some baking soda or other odor 
control substance to control the pan odor.  Really, as 
long as the cat has even a small litter box to use, All 
the waste products from your cat will be kept in one 
area.  Whether you call them litter boxes, cabinet or 
litter pan, It is the same thing. A place for your pet 
to relieve itself.  

In this cat litter box you will need some material to 
in it.  This material must be changed and kept clean 
if you want your pet to use it.  A cat will not go in a 
overly dirty litter box.  There are different types of 
litter you can use.  One type is a clumping litter.  
This material clumps in a ball when the urine hits it.  
This allows you to scoop the clumped ball out of the 
litter boxes without having to empty the whole 
thing.  The price of this type of litter is little more 
expensive but will save you from having to add kitty 
litter to fill the it all the time.  This will also save you 
money. Do the little extra that this clumping cat 
litter costs is worth it in the end. It also makes 
cleaning  litter easier.  

There are some supplies you may want to get that 
will compliment your litter boxes and make life 
easier for you.  One of these things are liners.  A liner 
goes inside of the litter boxes.  These will eliminate 
you from the task of cleaning litter that is stuck to 
the bottom of the actual litter boxes.  If you do not 
want to spend the money on a product that is made 
for litter boxes, you can always just use a plastic 
trash bag. Put the trash bag inside out over the box. 
when it comes time to get rid of whole batch of litter, 
 just pull the plastic bag off so it turns right side out 
and what's left of the clumping clay litter, or 
whatever material you use, will end up inside the 
bag.  There will not be any dust either. It will all be 
inside the bag.  

You may want to read some reviews and compare 
different litter boxes to see which type would be right 
for your household.  You may find that a littermaid 
brand box with some clean step litter would be the 
perfect fit for your litter cabinet base.  You may 
chose a hooded litter box.  You may even go as far 
as trying to find some self cleaning litter.  There is no 
self cleaning litter.  Someone has to clean it.  

You can pack the kids in the car and go out to the 
store to see what is available.  Or save time and gas 
buy having purchasing your litter boxes online.  It 
may even be cheaper having a company shipping 
them to your door.
