Staywell Cat Door
A staywell cat door may be the right product for you so your pet can let
itself in and out.
Back in the old days people had to get up and open the door every time their
pet wanted to go out. You could be sitting in your favorite chair nice and relaxed. Then your pet wants to go
out. This would happen at just the exact moment that you are nice and comfortable in your chair or on the
couch. It would be very annoying. Here comes the Staywell cat doors. So, about 1976 a company
decided to tackle this problem and try and come up with a solution.
They wanted to make a product that would fit into the track of a sliding
glass door. They would have to come up with a solution that would accomadate the different heights of the
tracks of a sliding glass door. Staywell made other things to, but that did not work out so well. The
company decided to make only pet doors. By focusing on one type of thing, they were able to produce top
quality products.
In the early 1990's the Staywell cat door for sliding glass doors was
introduced. This was the fist product that offered dual pane glass which provided insulation that had a pet
door build into it. Over the years improvements were made to this product. The company also introduced
a single pane glass for use with windows.
Now These panels have a spring mechanism that will allow height adjust to
different sizes of sliding glass doors. Now that the problem of finding a product (the STaywell cat door
panel for sliding glass doors) was solved, another problem needed to be solved. The flap that let your cat in
and out needed attention. The flaps that were used were just to stiff and were a danger to your pet. A
stiff flap could catch your cat in the opening and injure the pet, or worse. Other flaps that were used were
to flexible. They were safe for the pet, but did not insulate very well. You could feel the heat or
cold coming through them which increased your utility bills.
What did they come up with?
The Endua flap for Stawell cat doors. This door solves the problem of
drafts, sealing and being safe for your pet.
