Window Cat Door
Let your cats favorite place in the sun be his way out to the great
outdoors through a window cat door
Does your cat hang out in the window. Would you
like to make that window your cats way to get in
and out of the house without you having to let it
out? You are in luck. There is actually a window
cat door available.
How does this thing work?
It is a panel that goes into your window tracks. You
then pull you window down to create a seal. There
is a cat flap built into this window cat door. Now
your furry friend can use this window as a window
perch, a window seat or an entrance and exit way.
This will make an ordinary window in your house a
deluxe window perch for your pet.
The great thing about these is you can set the flap to
open in, open out or open in both directions. You
can also lock it so it will not open at all. Anthor
feature you get a choice of is where you want the
flap mounted on this cat door. You can have it on
the right, left or center. It is a personal choice. You
may have shrubs or thorny roses off to one side of
the window. You do not want your cat getting stuck
with the thorns.
You may be saying to yourself, "thats great, but how
do I lock the window so it can not be broken into"?
There are two ways.
If you have ever used a window airconditioner this
first way may be familier to you. All you do is take a
wooden dowel. Cut it so it fits snug at the top
between the window and the top of the window
casing. Now it is practically impossible to get it open
even with the window cat door in there. The only
way anyone is getting in is to break the glass or go
through on of your doors.
The other way to keep your it shut. Just take two
nails and hammer them into each track on each
side. The nails will keep the window from being able
to open.
You may not find this type of product in store that
sells pet supplies. You may have to seek out a
specialty company that makes a window cat door.
The price of them really is not that bad. I have seen
them for around 120.00 dollars. Petsafe may make
some or some other place that has pet supplies
related to cats. Is that amount of money worth it to
you to avoid the letting your pet cat in and out all
the time?
This thing will work in a veranda window and is
ideal for sliding ones. It will not work for ones that
are hinged and open outward.
